Not a lot to talk about this week. Last night I did officially finish all the hems on wedding Leia but it doesn’t look any different than last time I posted it so I haven’t taken a new picture. But it means tonight I can start working the ribbon trim on which I’ve been looking forward to.
I also need to finish the closure on the waist cincher which I have NOT been looking forward to.
If I didn’t have the white backdrop photoshoot VERY FIRMLY planted on this weekend (monday? since both chase and i are off that day and nothing on the schedule) I think I miiiiiiiight have been able to finish this costume in 2022? That’s probably over-promising. I still have all the designs to sew all over the back – but that’s the kind of stuff I like doing, where I can take it downstairs to the couch and just hand-sew for a few hours while watching weird cave diving accident videos on youtube. But I’ll probably spend the last week of this year getting the new photo backgrounds cleaned up and resized, tagged, uploaded and organized.
In other news, Jess sent me this incredible collection of Beatles memorabilia:
Magazines, a book, trading cards, so cool! I’ve been wanting to paint my work office for a while, and I think when I do I may frame some of these and do a Beatles wall – I’ve already got one wall with a Beatles Rubber Soul album on it so might as well expand.
She also sent this Bespin Leia figure that cracks me up:
I gotta keep her in the box like that.
And also this hallmark yellow submarine ornament — I decided to move my Ed Sullivan Beatles from the tree to this silver wreath to add the sub to it:
Saturday we did a little christmas shopping. I just have not had the mental capacity for it this year so we did some pretty basic stuff which I kinda feel guilty over but it’s just gonna be a weird year.
Saturday night we had Ash’s birthday party!
Yummy food, got to play with Ripley, all around A+++ fun, we should do it more often.
Jean got Luna this Grogu catgrass planter!
It’s sooo cute!
Sunday we had lunch to celebrate Uncle Buddy’s 102nd birthday. That’s like… hobbit age.
The sentence I just typed completely disappeared from my blog post when I came back with an image link so if it randomly appears someone in the post… sorry, wordpress is weird LOL
After lunch we had some errands to run so we took Kevin with us just for fun. And he wore my sunglasses.
I had wanted to take him to get a crumbl cookie since we were nearby but I totally forgot they’re closed on sunday, so we got him a donut instead.
Came home, took a nap, ate dinner, finished hemming the Leia dress. And that’s it for the week.
This week – I only have to work 2 days, thank god. I’m so over work..
Since I’m off a few days this week I’m hoping to really get some stuff done on Leia. We’ll see how much energy I have. I may get up and wrap some christmas presents and then take a nap the rest of the day.
